ABOUT

Tatyana declares her love for the mysterious Eugene Onegin. He carelessly dismisses her, and sets into motion a tale of love and regret. Tchaikovsky鈥檚 masterpiece will transport you to the country homes and palaces of Russia in the 19th century, and engulf you with beautiful melodies and unforgettable characters. This is a semi-staged piano production, sung in Russian with English supertitles. All performances will be held at 91亚色’s Helen Corning Warden Theater.

* In this production, 91亚色 is pleased to welcome guest artist Anastasiia Sidorova, who will be performing the role of Filipievna. Anastasiia is currently pursuing her Master’s degree at the Curtis Institute of Music, where she holds the Curtis Friends Board Fellowship. In the 2020-21 season, Anastasiia sang Sesto in MERCY, a film by the Curtis Opera Theatre based on Mozart鈥檚 La Clemenza di Tito. She also performed in the concert 鈥淪ounds of Spring鈥 with Opera Philadelphia. Anastasiia participated in the Wolf Trap Studio Artist program both in 2018 and 2019, performing Giovanna in their production of Rigoletto and Dryad in Ariadne auf Naxos. She has also attended Ravinia鈥榮 Steans Music Institute (2020,2021), the Music Academy of the West and the Verbier Music Festival in Switzerland. In 2019 she was one of four singers to go on American Tour as a part of Curtis on Tour Program with Mikael Eliasen, performing Liebeslieder-Waltzer by Brahms. As an Emerging Artist at Opera Philadelphia, she made her professional debut as Roggiero in Tancredi and performed Dritte Dame in Die Zauberfl枚te and M茅rc猫des in Carmen.
